Newcastle and Durham

I've been to Newcastle and Durham today.

Newcastle is an all-in-a-sudden idea, when I found that Durham is much smaller than I have expected.
I am glad that I had this idea. I found Newcastle gorgeous.

I like it, with its rhythm and lively, yet with it's beauty. Not like York, Windermere or Durham -- yes they are very beautiful, but seems lacking the life and soul in them.

That's why I like Manchester and Newcastle more -- I like the things more that 'beauty' in them -- the content, the beauty inside which is not that easy to be exposed. They are their own style, not necessary to make themselves all appeal to tourist.

That's the attitude that I admire. Maybe we Hong Kong should take them as example.

however i maybe too extreme. perhaps its just these two cities' styles cohere with me, then I can feel their 'content' that I can't do so in other English cities. Anyways. Just wanna my home town can conserve its own style and attitude, not to lose them upon the flooding tourists. :)

=====================================================
Maybe I should also list the cities that i've visited in England, as a record for myself: (listed according to my personal taste)

Newcastle
Manchester
London
Windermere
York and Castle Howard
Durham
Windsor
Liverpool

========================================================
When I visited Durham Castle , that is the University of Durham today, I saw the tour guide, who is a student there, was wearing a black gown.
He also mentioned that they have formal dinner, that's just like the 'high table' we had in HKU -- they also need to dress formally and wear gowns.

They have that in England, we have that in HKU; but seems none in Scotland, at least i can't find a hightable in this university, just some messy pizza/BBQ nights, not a pinch of sophistication. I missed the formal high table dinners, that's an experience that a univeristy student should have, at least to make them understand what means by sophisticated -- not that sophisticated 'sophisticated' nowadays, but still have that direction to sophistication -- not like those messy pizza nights, fad up!
